Who does the reviewing
Brotherly Burgers is two brothers who eat and rank NYC burgers. Both brothers rank the burgers. We are usually aligned; sometimes we are not. Either way, every burger carries one official Brotherly Burgers score — the number we stand behind together. Reviews are published under one byline: Reviewed by Brotherly Burgers.
What Burgerverse is
Brotherly Burgers is the editorial and reviewing identity. Burgerverse is the product: the rankings, reviews, guides, map, and discovery tools built on top of that first-hand work. Right now that means 102 ranked burgers across 99 restaurants, with more added as we eat them.
How it works
Scores are a holistic 0–10 judgment on a deliberately demanding scale — the patty is the main character, and price, atmosphere and access never move the number. The ranking is a living comparative model: each new burger sharpens how we see the rest, so scores and ranks can change as the field grows. The full details are in our methodology.
Independent, always
Our scores and rankings are authentic and cannot be purchased. We occasionally accept a complimentary meal but generally prefer not to, and a free burger never buys a score. More on that in editorial independence.
