Scored by Brotherly Burgers. Updated September 2026.
Greenwich Village has 8 ranked burgers spread across a wide quality range. Lord's (8.9) leads with a Welsh Rarebit Burger that only 12 people per night get to try, an English bistro sleeper that ranks in the Elite tier. Yesterday's (8.9) matches it on Bleecker Street with a wagyu burger whose beef quality and balance run well past its bar-food presentation. Butter Smashburgers (8.0) follows on MacDougal Street, the best cheap burger in the neighborhood by a clear margin. Minetta Tavern's dry-aged burger (7.9) remains the most famous in the neighborhood, but its reputation outpaces its ranking at #49 citywide, and the Black Label (6.5) fares worse. The Village has history and ambiance going for it, but for pure burger quality, the West Village next door is a different league.
